Mixer Decals: All Dressed Up and Ready to Bake

It’s the middle of January but I feel like it is still the start of the month since I have been fighting sickness and am just now getting around to putting away Christmas decorations and starting my new year. As I was packing up stuff from 2012 I got to thinking about some of my favorite gifts I received last year. One of them I just have to share with you. It wasn’t a Christmas gift, it was a gift given to me earlier in the year to celebrate the launch of Sweet Dreams Cake App. It is by far one of my most favorite gifts I have ever received, and has added some style to my baking, so I have to share.

An old college friend and former roommate of mine, Ebeth, contacted me a few months ago with some odd questions. She asked what my middle name was, what color my mixers were and what me favorite colors were? I got quite excited since she said it was all for a surprise. Several weeks later I received this in the mail:

They are vinyl decals for my mixers, along with instructions for applying them and the business card for the girl who made them, Andrea Petree. She owns a custom vinyl company called Living Designs.

My mixers are my babies so I was so excited to personalize them and “dress them up.” The biggest challenge for me was getting them cleaned up so that I could apply the vinyl and photograph them. They tend to be in constant use or waiting to be cleaned, especially during the holiday time. I finally got around to giving them a thorough cleaning and applying the decals. I absolutely love the results. As much as I loved my mixers before, I love them even more now.

I have to show you how easy it was to apply the vinyl.

Here are my clean, naked babies

The first step was to scrape the top of the decal so it would adhere to the tape layer. The instructions said you could use a credit card but I used my bone folder from my stamping supplies.

Next I peeled the bottom layer off

I then positioned the vinyl where I wanted it on my mixer and used the bone folder to adhere it in place.

Then I carefully peeled away the sticky layer.

So simple and so adorable!

When applying the measurement decals to my white mixer I had to make sure that I positioned it so that it wouldn’t cover the bolt on the side of the mixer head. I love this decal because I can never remember measurement amounts. It will save me time from having to look them up and it is just so darn cute on the mixer.

Now here are my babies, all dressed up and ready to bake.

Evey time I look at them they make smile. Thank you so much Ebeth!

If you want to order your own custom decals for your mixer, you can contact Andrea Petree at livingdesignvinyl@gmail.com or call her at 720-747-1064. You can also visit her website at www.facebook.com/livingdesigns.

May 2013 be a year of great baking and decorating for us all!

Until next time, God Bless and Sweet Dreams.

    1. Hi Andrea. You are so welcome. I just LOVE the vinyl decals. They brighten up my mixers and making baking even more fun! ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m sorry about typing in your prefix incorrectly. I did it early this morning before I was fully awake, ha! I just fixed it. I also added your website. You are welcome to use any pictures you want. I’m not the greatest photographer but hopefully people can get an idea of just how cute they turned out from the pictures. Take care and thanks again.
