I haven’t done a giveaway in a long time and I didn’t have much time to put a blog entry together this week so I thought it would be the perfect time to do another drawing. I wanted to give away something that brings joy to my baking life and was something I felt I just couldn’t live without (in the realm of cakes and such). Though I have many tools that would meet these requirements, two things kept popping up in my head; my bench scraper and my Silpat mat.
This is a bench scraper.
It is one of my most useful and versatile tools for decorating cakes. I talk a lot about it in my app. I use it for everything from smoothing sides of cakes to cutting strips of fondant to cleaning the table of dried gumpaste and so much more. I have this thing next to me at all times whenever I am decorating a cake.
My other great love is my Silpat mat.
For general baking, I use this mat all the time. In fact I actually have four of them, one to line each one of my baking sheets. These mats are amazing! You don’t have to grease your baking sheets or use parchment when you have a Silpat. I have never had anything stick to it and it keeps my baking sheets clean. I bake all of my gingerbread on it, most of my cookies and I even use it for things like pouring Isomalt. My kids tease me because, even though I have had my mats for years, I still comment how much I love them almost every time I pull them out.
So I was trying to decide which of these to give away when I finally just decided to give them both away. I am going to do a drawing on this Saturday morning, March 2nd, and one person will win a bench scraper and another person will win a Silpat mat. In order to win, you must be a fan of Sweet Dreams Cake App on Facebook. Go to my wall and find the post about this blog entry and “like” it then leave me a comment telling me which state or, if you live outside of the United States, which country you live in. You have to do both. You have until Friday night at midnight, Mountain Standard Time, to enter. I will announce the winners on Saturday morning.
Until next time, God bless and Sweet Dreams!
